What is a Crossbred Poodle? A crossbred poodle is a poodle that is bred with another type of dog. Poodles are often crossbred with:
Yorkies to create a Yorkiepoo
Chihuahuas to create a Chipoo
Golden Retrievers to create a Goldendoodle
Labradors to create a Labradoodle
Malteses to create a Maltipoo
Although these dogs are adorable the health of these dogs may not be ideal because these dogs have the genetic makeup of both the poodle and the other breed which includes the diseases of the poodle and the other breed. A responsible poodle breeder will NOT be crossbreeding poodles. Their goal is to IMPROVE the health and temperament of the poodle by breeding generation after generation of poodles. By crossbreeding they would be going against their goals. These crossbreeds often have more health issues which equals more veterinary visits and costs because the dogs suffer from diseases found in 2 breeds instead of 1.
We highly recommend that you purchase a purebred poodle from a responsible breeder that is NOT crossbreeding poodles.
